Desert Survival: finding water
The Bedouin knew every detail of wells in
the country. They know the source of water and the directions for navigation
through the desert. People survived through the UAE’s sweltering summer by
managing to eke out limited and hidden food. The Bedouin can know where water
might be. Many followed the twittering or flight of birds. The well called by
the name of man who dug it. The Bedouin kill the camel to drink the water
stored in its stomach. Camels can store water for a longer time. People who
live in desert replace water by the milk from camels and goats. The stored the
water in satchels made of sheep or goatskin rot longer journeys. Bedouin can
live more than 24 hours without water because their body adjusts itself through
sweat.
