We learn in this class summary an article from a newspaper. In
the summary we should put the main ideas because it includes the importance in
the article. If people read the summary and compare between the summary and the
main article. But what if we should leave out some parts in the article, like
names of people, some cities and years. Summarizing make the big article to
small summary with a lot of main information. What is difficult in summarizing
is when the article doesn’t have a lot of important ideas but all of it data’s.
Also we learned how to do research from websites about any subject that teacher
give it to as to search information about it. Also we learned how to find references
and we put it in the summary. I think this course is very important for all
students because it’s teach you how to take main ideas from an essay or anything
that’s more than 500 to 600 words , so it’s easier to read the summary and
understand what the subject is about.

The Masder
Project
The UAE Established Masdar,
Abu Dhabi’s energy company, it coast Dh734.6 Million. Masder Abu Dhabi’s is the
first of its kind in the region. There is not a lot of wind in the gulf, but they
are working to design special turbine blades to take the benefits of light
winds. Masder has been made the first wind farm, Shams1 and Nour1.The two solar
plants are 100 megawatt. Masder will produce electricity
of 100mw near the Saudi border. When the construction will be done, the wind
farm in two years will generate the power. “Wind power is more challenging to develop in the GCC than
solar power” (Yee, 2011). In
the UAE, its limited because the nature of the wind. There a few days the weather
becomes windy but not every time.

Desert Survival: finding water
The Bedouin knew every detail of wells in
the country. They know the source of water and the directions for navigation
through the desert. People survived through the UAE’s sweltering summer by
managing to eke out limited and hidden food. The Bedouin can know where water
might be. Many followed the twittering or flight of birds. The well called by
the name of man who dug it. The Bedouin kill the camel to drink the water
stored in its stomach. Camels can store water for a longer time. People who
live in desert replace water by the milk from camels and goats. The stored the
water in satchels made of sheep or goatskin rot longer journeys. Bedouin can
live more than 24 hours without water because their body adjusts itself through
sweat.
