Bluetooth
Bluetooth is
short radio waves that were
developed by a group of electronics
companies to allow any two
devices - computers,
cell phones, keyboards and many devices
to carry out the process of contact alone without
wires or cables or any intervention by the
user. The system enables Bluetooth devices located within
coverage waves to
communicate with each other, so you can connect two devices located in different rooms, but Bluetooth should have a
strong signal to cover this area.
Bluetooth was developed in 1994 by
Sven Mattisson and Haartsen Yap, who were working for Ericsson platforms in
Lund, Sweden. Since 1980, companies try to make a new method based on the
wireless connection. All these attempts were facing many difficulties are
summarized in the additional consumption of electricity, and they face another
problem because devices disturb each other.
The biggest problem is that there is no standard basis to work on it. In
the meantime, it was believed that infrared technology is the best solution for
communication and wireless connectivity. To achieve this, the 30 companies and there
founders, almost in the month of August of 1993 including HP, IBM, try to work
together to establish a so-called IrDA Infrared Data Association. This new technology was struggled with a
difficult problem which need for optical communication between different
devices as a prerequisite for the completion of the binding process. Then, they joined with Ericsson Company to
find a way to link wireless replaced with wired connectivity. As a result of
the research of all companies (Ericsson, Nokia, IBM, Toshiba, and Intel) try to
formulate a set of specifications agreed upon, and which is also derived from
the knowledge and information from the IrDA. At the end they found the now
invention which named Bluetooth.
They developed Bluetooth because they need to
solve some problems they faced by connecting some devises, before if they need
to send files form computer to other computer they connect the computers by
wires sometimes the devises are far from
each other so they need to invent a new thing to send files by wireless. Some
digital devices like audio device need two connected with to wires and
sometimes need 8 wires or 25 wires, so wireless connection will be easier.
Bluetooth
future looks strong, many companies trying to make Bluetooth reach far away to
other device. Also cars companies trying to use Bluetooth in cars, so you can
start the engine without switch. Sometimes when you send a file from device to
other device, if the size of file is very big it’s taking a long time to reach,
so the companies now working to solve this problem. As Hans Vestberg said in
his interview “Bluetooth is future of wireless connection“(Hans Vestberg, President Ericsson and CEO).
In conclusion I think Bluetooth is very
important in our life, its make connection with devices very easy. I use
Bluetooth to send music or picture form my lap to my mobile phone or from my
friend phone to my phone. In future maybe everything will start working with
Bluetooth.
